We are based in Bournemouth in Dorset on the South Coast of the United Kingdom and work closely with local businesses to provide photographers with a range of subjects to photograph including Liberty’s Owl, Raptor And Reptile Centre in Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest as well as Reptiles Plus, Townsend Community Centre, Kinson Community Centre and other local attractions.
Captivelight is owned and run by award winning professional photographer Miles Herbert.
“I was bitten by the photography bug at a very early age (having a father who once worked for Kodak probably helped!) and was given my first camera on my 7th birthday. Since then I have worked for law enforcement agencies enhancing images (using what was then a little known program called Photoshop!) as well as taking images, worked for a large organisation as an embedded photographer, and for the last 10 years or so have been working freelance and running my own photography business.
Over the years my images have been published in books, magazines, bill-boards, adverts, newspapers,as well as print sales, greeting cards, postcards and other printed media. With the rise of the internet and the market for digital images my pictures have found their way onto websites all over the world including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Canada, Australia and Malaysia.
These days I now run Captivelight where we give other photographers the opportunity to photograph Birds Of Prey, Reptiles, Frogs and other beasties as well as running our own workshops and tuition sessions.”
