For this day we take some of our Harvest Mice out into the natural beauty of the New Forest to give you a chance to photograph them outdoors in natural surroundings under natural light making use of the varied natural backgrounds available. During the course of the day you will be working with an experienced friendly professional photographer to offer help and advice throughout the day making this day suitable for photographers of all levels of experience including beginners as well as more advanced photographers looking for some stunning images of these fascinating (and cute!) little creatures.

These days are  available as “Weekday Workshops” meaning you can book the entire session for yourself or choose to share with a couple of friends up to a maximum of three people at any session. Available sessions are a morning session from 10.00AM until 12.30PM and an afternoon session from 1.30PM until 4.30 during British Summer Time.

In the event of bad weather on the day we can give you the option of using our indoor facilities (subject to availability) or returning on a different day.

During the day you have the option of supplying your own props for your own use – please read under the “What We Supply” heading for exclusions.

What We Supply
We supply a number of harvest mice along with a quantity of standard props to photograph them on including wheat, dried teasel, poppy heads and various branches. Natural props should also be available, such as bracken and natural branches/leaves.

If you want to photograph the mice on something specific, for example specific flowers we would suggest that you bring them with you. Please note that we do not allow poisonous plants, for example Fox Gloves, any of the Lily family including Calla as these can be harmful to the mice, sticky plants like fresh-cut Sunflowers, and thistles as the mice really don’t like them.

Recommended Equipment
For these days we recommend a DSLR, Mirror-less Compact System or Bridge Cameras with plenty of spare memory and batteries.  For lenses we would recommend something along the lines of a 70 – 200 or larger zoom and/or a macro lens for close-ups. A tripod can be useful as well as a camping chair or something to sit on. No refreshments are available so you may want to bring your own.

These days are priced at:
1 Person – £60
2 People Booking together – £100
3 People booking together – £120
